About
I am a visual artist based in Oakland, CA. In my work I often confront the pleasures and pitfalls of nostalgia and decide whether to embrace or circumvent them. The home we long for may be the physical house or geographical place where we grew up, or a specific time period—such as youth or childhood—and the associated relationships and experiences. However, “nostalgia,” the term we use today to describe this looking to the past, can carry with it a great deal of social and cultural baggage.
